Every summer we offer penultimate year students the opportunity to be part of Frontline’s London office team for a four-week internship. By joining our team, you will make valuable contributions that will help us in our mission to transform the lives of vulnerable children in the UK. We are also committed to helping you develop a range of transferable skills that will help you succeed in your future career. Throughout the internship, our team will support you to give you exposure to different experiences and improve your employability.
This year we will have interns in the following teams:
Brand development and research
Working alongside our Recruitment team for the Frontline programme, you will help develop Frontline’s brand awareness at universities across the UK. You will conduct valuable research and analysis, which will help shape the future of Frontline’s graduate marketing campaign and campus events. You will also have the opportunity to work with the team to create long-term strategies and tools for the campaign.
We are looking for someone who is organised, keen to practise qualitative research, who loves to network with other students and can envision creative ways to engage with people to build an employer brand.
Communications and fundraising
As part of the External Relations team, you will work across communications, fundraising and events. You will assist with the management of Frontline’s website, social media presence and blog, as well as producing both internal and external communications. You will also create compelling marketing materials, conduct detailed research on potential fundraising partners and help to plan and deliver our busy schedule of events.
You will need to love communicating with people in a variety of different ways, including through social media, blogs, newsletters, emails and face to face. You should be confident in drafting copy, conducting research and copy-editing, as well as be an organised individual with an eye for detail when assisting with events.
You will play a pivotal role in running an innovative leadership development programme for social work managers. As part of the Firstline team, you will gain key skills in areas including event management, data analysis, project planning, and training and development. You will support the planning and delivery of our July residential in Sheffield, help the team run meetings with new local authorities, collate impact reports on different themes and make recommendations in response to feedback to ensure that the programme is delivered to the highest possible standard.
We are looking for an intern with strong research and analytical skills, an interest in events and project management and a passion for delivering a high quality programme that directly impacts vulnerable children.
You will join the youngest team at Frontline, working on the Frontline Fellowship. The Fellowship is a movement of outstanding individuals who are applying themselves to address social disadvantage in different ways, and who have all received training from Frontline. The five-strong team supports our community of 600 fellows to improve their social work skills, develop innovative ideas, influence policy and connect with each other. You will work on a number of projects including writing and managing communications, developing our online platform for fellows, supporting the team with events, researching and collating information to inform further projects and analysing data to make recommendations.
We are excited to welcome an intern who is comfortable using their initiative to work on their own projects. You will have opportunities to meet and get to know the fellows themselves. Community management is a key part of the role and you will have opportunities to meet and get to know the fellows themselves. We therefore require someone with good communication skills, who thinks creatively but also has a good eye for detail.
Applicants to the student internship will need to indicate what team they’d like to be a part of at the point of applying. This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience at a dynamic charity and make a difference. Find out more about what it’s like to intern with Frontline by reading Luke and Olivia’s blogs.
More information about the opportunity can be found in the job pack below.
Applications are now closed and will open again in early 2020.
