Julie Henry
Julie is a practice tutor in the North East region. She left staturory social work in 2016 to become a lecturer at the University of Bedfordshire on the Frontline programme, moving across to Frontline when the academic team was brought in house. She also delivers and develops safeguarding training as part of a local authority safeguarding board. Prior to this, Julie’s background was in child protection, as a senior practitioner in a children with disabilities team and finally as a manager of a local authority fostering team. Julie qualfied in 2008 and completed the Firstline leadership programme in 2016.

Ofsted report, ‘Communication is the Key, A good practice survey of the services for deaf children’ (October 2012). The report identified a case I as an example of outstanding practice in relation to Safeguarding and ascertaining Children’s views, wishes and feelings.

Teaching
Julie has been an Academic Tutor since September 2016 and takes great pride in the development of participants. Her ethos and values are that she is approachable and available to support the needs of the participants as well as share her own practice experiences and knowledge.
