Kathleen Butler

Kathleen is a practice tutor in the South East and East of England regions. She has worked with children and families in the UK and abroad for over ten years. This work has included community based social work, youth justice, short term work in referral and assessment, and longer term work with children in care, child protection, court proceedings and family support. Kathleen has been a practice educator for over seven years and this remains an ongoing interest. Kathleen is a registered social worker and fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Teaching

Before joining Frontline Kathleen worked as a senior lecturer in social work and more recently as an associate lecturer. Kathleen has led modules on MSc and BSc courses and the Step Up programme.

Kathleen has also worked as a trainer and practice educator for a local authority delivering training to managers on resilience, social work training on risk, and continuing professional development.
