Mark Stancer

Mark is our Curriculum Director. He has had over 33 years experience in social work support roles. This includes as a qualified social worker, as well as leadership at both operational and strategic levels, from managing teams up to and including directorship.

His work has included time working with local authorities on a permanent basis, including Hertfordshire, Ealing, Hackney, Essex and Lambeth. Mark successfully led the last two authorities to achieve dramatic improvements in social work. Authorities rated ‘inadequate’ by Ofsted were led to achieve significant improvement as a result of Mark’s leadership.

As well as being a qualified social worker, Mark is also a qualified Systemic Psychotherapist and a solution-focussed practitioner.

Mark was Director for Children’s social care in Lambeth before joining Frontline in January 2019.

Research interests

Mark is interested in developing knowledge through research into the field of social work practice.
