Home address

Please ensure this is your permanent home address and not a university term time address.

First choice location

Please use this section to indicate the areas that you’d prefer to complete the programme in. If you are successful at an assessment centre, you will subsequently be required to give more details in a “placement survey” about your current circumstances and the parts of the country that you’d be able to do the programme in. Your initial preference, along with the details from your placement survey, will be considered when allocating you to a local authority placement.

Please note that locations are subject to change and we cannot guarantee that placements will be available in all of the locations listed below. Popular areas will close when full so we encourage you to complete your application as soon as possible. We do not offer placements in every local authority in the country, so areas not listed here are either full or not offering placements.

Please select your answers from the drop down lists - do not type your answer. If the dropdown list does not appear, type any letter in the box followed by the backspace key in order to trigger the list to load.

To change your selection, clear both the region and area fields before proceeding.

Driving

In order to make sure you are placed in a suitable location, please answer the questions below about your driving status. Please note that some local authorities require a full driving licence for you to apply to work there. As you are applying at the very end of our application window, the cut-off date to have passed your test (1 March 2025) has now passed for these local authorities, and you will be unable to apply for these areas if you do not have a full driving licence.

The first choice location you have selected requires its social workers to have a full driving licence.

In order to be allocated a placement in your first choice location you are required to have a full driving licence.

The second choice location you have selected requires its social workers to have a full driving licence.

In order to be allocated a placement in your second choice location you are required to have a full driving licence.

The first choice location you have selected requires its social workers to have access to a vehicle in order to visit families in the community.

In order to be eligible to be offered a placement in your first choice location you must have access to a vehicle by the start of the programme. Please indicate below whether you have access to a vehicle. If not, please consider if this is the right time for you to apply to the programme, or consider whether you could relocate in order to complete the programme.

A driving licence and access to a vehicle is required in most local authority areas outside London.

The second choice location you have selected requires its social workers to have access to a vehicle in order to visit families in the community.

In order to be eligible to be offered a placement in your second choice location you must have access to a vehicle by the start of the programme. Please indicate below whether you have access to a vehicle. If not, please consider if this is the right time for you to apply to the programme, or consider whether you could relocate in order to complete the programme.

A driving licence and access to a vehicle is required in most local authority areas outside London.

For a placement to be viable, Frontline will not place applicants in local authorities that are more than an hour's commute from their home address.

If we do not believe that any of our local authorities would be within an hour's commute of your home address, and you are unable to relocate for the programme, you will not be eligible for the role and will have your offer withdrawn.
