Registration will take you approximately 10 to 15 minutes to complete. For the best experience, we recommend you complete this form on a desktop, laptop or tablet rather than a mobile phone.

Personal details

Please provide your legal details (including all middle names) as they appear on your passport or official documentation.

All questions marked with an * are compulsory fields.

Please provide a personal email address and not an academic email address.

If this is the same as your first name, please provide this again.

(Please ensure you provide your full number including any international country code e.g. +4412345678910)

Please ensure you check the date you will receive your final grade prior to submitting an application. Your selected university typically releases degree results after our deadline ( 8 July 2026) and does not offer early grades. If you are unable to receive your final, ratified grade by our deadline, any offer will be withdrawn.

We must see evidence of final grades prior to 8 July (this does not have to be your formal certificate, just evidence of the final grade). If you are unable to show this before 8 July 2026 you will not be eligible for the programme.

Home address

Please ensure this is your permanent home address and not a university term time address.

Please provide the address you will be residing at whilst completing the programme. If you are unsure of your exact address please provide an approximate one.

To ensure you fill in the next part of the registration form correctly, please refer to our Locations page.

Driving

In order to make sure you are placed in a suitable location, please answer the questions below about your driving status.
Please note that most local authorities outside of London require a full driving licence and access to a car for you to apply to work there. If you select that you do not have driving licence, or access to a car, locations that require this will not be visible to you.

You have selected that you do not have a full valid UK driving license, as such you will only be shown locations which do not require driving.

You have selected that you
do not have access to a car, or will not have access to a car by the start of the programme, as such you will only be shown locations which do not require driving.

First choice location

Please use this section to indicate where you’d prefer to complete the three-year programme. If you are successful at an assessment centre, you will need to give more detail in a “placement survey” about your current circumstances and the locations where you’d be able to complete the programme. Your initial preference, along with the details from your placement survey, will be considered when allocating you to a local authority placement.

Please visit our locations webpage to see where we offer placements and learn more.

Please select your answers from the drop down lists - do not type your answer. If the dropdown list does not appear, type any letter in the box followed by the backspace key in order to trigger the list to load.

To change your selection, clear both the region and area fields before proceeding.

Please use the midpoint of the commuting range on Google Maps. For example, if the commute range states 30-50 minutes, use the midpoint of 40 minutes and select 30-45 minutes. For more information about calculating this refer to the instructions on our locations webpage.

Location preferences

Please note we will consider you for all of the location preferences that you select. If your first choice location subsequently closes, we will automatically move you to your second or third choice locations, if you have selected these. To ensure the best chance of securing a place at one of our assessment centres we would encourage you to select all commutable options within 45 minutes.

For a placement to be viable, Frontline will not place applicants in local authorities that are more than a 45 minute rush-hour commute from their home address.

If we do not believe that any of our locations would be within a 45 minute commute of your home address, at rush hour, you will not be eligible for the role and will have your offer withdrawn.

Bursary

In the first year of Approach Social Work you will receive a tax-free bursary of £18,000, or £20,000 in London (paid over the course of 13 months). This is designed as a contribution to living costs. It is likely that you will need to have access to other sources of finances during this time to cover all your costs. Please note it is extremely unlikely that you will be eligible for any in-work benefits (e.g. universal credit or 30 hours of funded childcare) whilst you are in year one.
