John joins Frontline as a trustee, whilst continuing his role as director of communications at the BBC since November 2013. Prior to this John was director of communications at the Department for Work and Pensions – where he headed up all the communications activity for the department. 

John has both private and public sector experience, having been a director at one of Britain’s largest transport businesses and the head of communications for the BBC. He has also worked at the Foreign Office and No. 10.

Faiza is a trustee of Frontline and has been director of corporate affairs and foundation at City and Guilds since August 2022. Faiza’s previous roles include director of engagement and insight for The National Lottery Community Fund and director of policy and communications for the Paul Hamlyn Foundation. She has also served as a trustee for End Child Poverty and is currently a trustee at the Barrow Cadbury Trust, an independent grant maker committed to social justice 

Faiza is passionate about achieving social change and has worked across charities, communities and national and local government agencies to support better outcomes for those experiencing disadvantage. In 2014, Faiza received an MBE for services to young people.
